Helium by Kevin Winnik

The Element Helium originates its name from the Greek God of the Sun, Helios.
Symbol-He
Atomic number-2
Atomic Mass- 4.03
It is a in group 18 of the periodic table
Electron configuration-1s2
Valence electrons-2
Properties
Color- Has no color, it has no color because it is a gas, but it can  appear as different colors.
Texture-It is a gas, so it has no texture.
State at room temperature- it is a light gas, so nothing will happen since it will be stay in its original form
Boiling point- (-452.1° F (-268.9° C)It actually has the lowest boiling point for any element
Melting point- (-458° F (-272.2° C) It actually has the lowest melting point for any element
Weight-its very light, its the second most lightest gas in the world.
Luster-Helium has no luster since it is a gas and it cant shine or reflect light
Element Category- Noble Gases
Potential Hazards- It actually has none since it is a gas you can breath in, i guess the only dangerous thing is if you breath to much in

How helium was found, through this little radioactive wave
History-It was first detected as a unknown yellow spectral line in sunlight during a solar eclipse in 1868 by a French astronomer named Jules Janssen. But it was Lockyer who was the first to say that the line was due to a new element. This element is made from the radioactivity of the minerals deep in earth.
Uses- Many of us use Helium to joke around and inhale so our voice gets high pitched. But it is used to make Balloons, neon signs, and breathing tools. also used in cryogenics
